When Jay proposed, my mind got flooded with wedding plans!
I was really overwhelmed.
Which church?
Will we have venue and caterer package?
Who will do my gown?
Who’s going to cover our wedding photo/video? Will they be 2 different companies?
I guess my fiance wanted to make it easier, he made an excel file, just like the one we made for the engagement ring, but this one is much more detailed.
We’ve started going to Bridal fairs and having church visits. Then we’ve decided on a date. First, we wanted it to be our first anniversary, so July 13, 2009 but it falls on a weekday, so we asked for the next available Saturday or Sunday and it’s Aug. 9, 2009. We had the date booked.
After sometime we thought that since Aug. 9 is a Sunday, and most probably reception would end by 8 or 9 pm, guests would be so tired and go home late. Again, we rebooked our wedding to Nov. 29, 2009, 6pm. It’s ok that it falls on a Sunday since the next day, it’s a non working holiday!
After a couple of days, we thought that pictures wouldn’t be that nice since it’s already dark. We want the natural light the sun gives and the sunset effect so… again, for the nth time, we rebooked our wedding to Feb. 13, 2010 which is Jay’s birthday! It’s a Saturday so no worries!
Or so we thought.
One night, my mom texted to check on me. I said I didn’t go to work since I’m having headaches (though I worked at home) and then told her that we rescheduled our wedding to Feb. 13, 2010.
This were her lines…
Chei, your sister is set to get married March 2010 because her fiance’s family will all be going back here. Is it possible if you have yours later part of this year? We’ve already inquired at Divine Mercy and reception would be at Alessandra, it’s nice!
What could I say, it felt like my mom’s the bride and she’s so excited for the wedding. I just can’t say that we’ve been changing dates and now that we’ve had what’s best, we’re bombarded with superstitions.
After we found out that I can’t get married on Feb. 13, 2010, Jay and I decided to call Caleruega the next day and ask for an available date that falls on a Saturday, Sunday or a Holiday.
Today, Jay called me up and said that Nov. 30, 2009 (3pm), which falls on a Monday and free!!!
He said that if I’m ok with that then I should call Caleruega and confirm that we’re taking it.
So after several times of calling and no one picking up, I’ve texted them and sent an email.
Yey! we’re booked, again!
